Angie “Pleasant” Crawford Inducted into Pirate Sports Hall of Fame

ANGIE “PLEASANT” CRAWFORD INDUCTED INTO PIRATE SPORTS HALL OF FAME

A 1986 graduate, Angie was a three-sport athlete and an Eight-time letterman in volleyball, basketball, and Track and Field. Was named All- Big Nine and Davis High School MVP multiple years in Basketball and Track and Field, and Volleyball Captain. She was a mainstay at Davis High School in turning the Volleyball, Basketball and Track programs into Big Nine League title contenders. In her Senior year, she was selected All Big Nine and All-State for basketball, averaging 18 points, five rebounds and four steals and four assist per game, finishing second in scoring in the Big Nine. Also, in her senior year, she earned a trip to the Track and Field State Championship in the High Jump and Shot Put, where she took Second Place in the Shot Place that is still the current Davis High women’s school record for 42 feet. She finished her senior year with Yakima’ Athletic Co-Contributor of Year Award, earning a full athletic scholarship to play basketball for the University of Idaho. She decided to cut her Collegiate career short to serve her country, joining the United States Navy, serving 25 years and retiring as a Naval Officer. During her military career, she played on the All-Navy Basketball teams, averaging 30 points a game, winning a Championship and MVP honors. She also became a NCAA Division One, Women’s Basketball Official for fifteen years, officiating in the Big East, ACC, MEAC, Colonial, earning a selection to officiate the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and selected two years in a row to Officiate the Summer NBA Basketball League for consideration for hire. After retiring from Officiating, she Coached High School Basketball for Eight Years, winning a California State Championship. Angie states her biggest accomplishments is being married 30 years and watching her daughter Jasmyn who is a collegiate Track and Field athlete compete in the 100, 200, 4x100 relay and long jump where she holds school NCAA records herself.
